Ember Queen: Book 3

Updated: Sep 24

Theo has been a torched and tormented prisoner in her own home for years now. With freedom finally in her grasp, Theo must fight someone whom she thought was her best friend to free her people from slavery. That girl is now the Kaiserin who has untamable and strange abilities stemming from being poisoned by Theo and happens to also have Prince Søren, Theo’s lover, captive. Theo must now figure out how to embrace her powers and control them to have any chance against her former heart sister.

Being the final book in this trilogy, Ember Queen is a fitting end. Everything is nicely wrapped up and the story comes to a fitting conclusion. The character’s arcs are completed and they are prepared for whatever will come moving forward. Though this might not be my absolute favorite series, this one is still worth reading and is plenty engaging. I enjoyed reading it as a side book though I probably would not read the series again.

With this being the end of the series, here are a few books that are similar: Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas because they both hold the same entertainment value, The Kiss of Deception trilogy by Mary E. Pearson because of the similarly daring tale, and Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard because of the similarly curious main characters.
