Glass Sword: Book 2

Updated: Apr 29

We pick up where we left off with Mare, a red with a lightning ability, and Cal, a silver first born prince with a fire ability. They just barely manage to escape from Cal’s power hungry brother, Maven, with the help of the Resistance. They then meet up with Kilorn and her brother, Shade, who she thought was dead and on a poorly constructed underground train heading to the Resistance base. Shade tells Mare that he has a teleportation ability and they barely get to reunite before they arrive to chaos.

This book is just fantastic and a major turning point for this series. There is so much relationship dynamics and general set up that is done while still creating an interesting tale. There is enough action and story progression to keep it interesting while the overall world is being expanded and set up. This book kept me captivated and interested as I worked through it. I really enjoy the author’s writing style and pacing. As an audience member, you are kept wanting for more and having trouble stopping.

If you enjoyed this book, you should check out the next book in the series, King's Cage. Other books like this one are: The Selection series by Kiera Cass, the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi, and the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
