King's Cage: Book 3

Updated: Apr 29

To free her friends from an impossible situation, Mare gave herself up to Maven, the current king and her manipulative ex, who has been chasing after her like a lost puppy. This toxic need he has for her to be his alone has only caused them both pain and suffering as he has sent and killed many people in his pursuit of obtaining her. With her finally in his possession, he can now show the world that she is his alone.

I had a lot of trouble really getting into this book at first. It takes quite a bit for there to be any action which was why it took me so long to read it. It is actually a good book and, once I got into it, was really hard to put down. There is a lot of growing that Mare does during this book and lessons that she learns. Getting to know her better on a deeper level and getting her to reflect on her past actions is important. I feel like this book helped me to connect and become more invested in the series.

If you enjoyed this book, you should check out the next book in the series, War Storm. Other books like this one are: The Selection series by Kiera Cass, the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi, and the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.
