Updated: May 26

Combining fairytales and science fiction, this tale is based on Little Red Riding Hood but set in the future in France with Lunars, a nation on the moon, trying to take over Earth. We meet Scarlet, a girl who is looking for her missing Grandmere and has a farming business. She meets a strong fighter in one of the restaurants that she delivers to and he agrees to help her find her Grandmere. She ends up finding her grandmere and more than she bargained for about both the fighter and her Grandmere’s history with Lunars.

I wish that we got more talk from Cinder in this book, but I understand that the spit was important for the author to help us build a connection to this new addition to the crew.

If you enjoyed this book, the next book in the series is, Cress. Other books like this one are: The Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare because the shadowhunters blend into society like the wolves do, the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard because both of the main characters are running from a government, and .
