Morning Star: Book 3

Updated: Apr 29

Darrow has survived the Institute and the Academy. He has survived multiple attacks on his life and has started to test how willing the people closest to him are about accepting who he truly is, a Red. After taking his biggest chance on someone who he knows to be unreliable, the Jackal, Darrow was betrayed and captured. He has been tortured for who knows how long and has given up far too much information about the Sons of Ares and his family.

I just love the writing of this book so much. The characters are so interesting and the plot never seems to stop. All the twists and turns this book holds always keep you on your feet. Mustang is ruthless and smart. Darrow is strategic and kind. The Jackal is mischievous and a backstabber. I love this whole series and will miss it. The conclusion was fitting and everything got wrapped up pretty nicely. Still a very devastating book, but so worth it.

If you enjoyed this book, the next book in the series is Iron Gold by Pierce Brown, which happens 10 years after this trilogy ends. Other books like this one are: the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas because they both feel like they can never rely on others, the Seven Devils series by Laura Lam and Elizabeth May because both characters go through many trials, the Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard because both of them are fighting back against their societies.
